Automatik delivers second CC-PET line using underwater pelletizing to Germany’s STF Recycling
STF Recycling GmbH, part of STF Group has taken delivery of a second bottle-to-bottle r-PET pelletizing line using advanced Combi-Crystal-PET® technology (CC-PET®) from Automatik Plastics Machinery. The company, which uses the facility to produce its Eco-RPET branded material, is one of more than 30 industrial users of the innovative and energy efficient CC-PET® technology for direct crystallization. In addition to operating PET recycling lines, STF also produces equipment for shredding and washing in recycling applications. CC-PET®, which STF has been successfully using since 2006, combines pelletizing, drying and crystallization in a single process, using the high energy content of the processed polyester to achieve direct downstream crystallization levels of up to 40%. This high energy efficient results in excellent operating economics, with throughputs of up to 3,000 kg/h from a single line.
